This was a great week of a vacation. There are seven of us ladies and we all have enjoyed ourselves. You have a charming place--well equiped too! We will be back. Barb, Utica, NY, September 2010
Cape Cod, what an experience! I have seven wonderful friends who joined me for another fun filled adventure. Hats off to the rental agency for suggesting your vacation rental. you have such a warm charm filled home. The ornate overlays covering the bookcases to the fine lace valances draping the windows and the many great antiques, following through with the modern appliances and well stocked cooking utensils certainly provided an easy and relaxing vacation. The bedrooms are properly supplied and the color combination are perfect throughout. Having a place in upstate NY, I was most impressed that you truly care about your renters!!! WE definitely will return! Loved the flat screen TV, however laying in bed seeing the ocean and hearing the waves crash against the sea wall was the best!! See you next year!! P.S. Thanks or the beach chairs, grill and information booklets on the Cape. Deb, New Hartford, NY, September 2010
I've never been any other place I wanted to call home!! I'll be back! Donna, Utica, NY, September 2010
Thank you for the place. My family stays in Dennis off 6A and love it, but it isn't as clean and nice as your place. It is just charming, I love the way you decorated. If my parents were young, this would be the place they would love to buy. Thank you again. Maureen, New Hartford, NY, September 2010
This was our first multi-generational family vacation, and we couldn't have chosen a better home to stay in. So charming, so comfortable, and so well equipped. All of our needs were met. Our granddaughters especially enjoyed having their own private beach. They brought lots of sea shells home! This was a great location from which to visit the rest of Cape Cod. Thank you! Rosemary K, June 2011
We wanted to let you know that we had such a fabulous time last week at your home. It was better than we could have imagined! Thanks again for sharing your beautiful spot. Heather B from Massachussetts, July 2011
We enjoyed staying here, the house was very spacious for the 6 of us. Kitchen is very well equipped. We LOVE the new ocean facing porch, spent a lot of time there, mornings and evenings. Lots of nature around you, including a family of bunnies with newborns! Kids loved walks on the beach searching for shells. Beach was very private. Great place to stay in Dennisport! Jessica, Burlington VT, July 2011

We've been coming to Cape Cod for more than 25 years and still find new places to visit. Here is a description of some our best finds:
Swan River Channel - At least once a season we take a short drive over to West Dennis Village just beyond the Swan River and spend the afternoon at the channel where the river runs into the sound. We have a blast letting the swift current take us up-river. Even if you're not a swimmer, it's fun to watch people glide by. It's best to go when the tide is coming in. You'll have to pay to park but its worth it.
Cahoon Hallow - One rainy day we ventured up to the Marconi Beach Restaurant for some very good barbeque. Then we visited one of Wellfleet's lesser known beaches called Cahoon Hallow. With its high bluffs and steep dunes, the view from the parking lot is breathtaking. The Atlantic crashes below and the beach extends as far as the eye can see.
Chapin Beach - If you enjoy skim-boarding, Chapin Beach is worth a visit during low tide. There are hundreds of feet of sandbar with just the right amount of water to skim. One evening in early August a few years back we hit the low tide right at sunset. At that time of year the sun appears to drop right into the ocean. We were lucky to have a great orange ball of fire that night that lit the sky up with warm colors for a half hour. When we turned to walk back to shore the full moon was rising.
Morris Island - For a very different view of the ocean, visit Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge on Morris Island in Chatham. The visitor's center has informative displays of local flora and fauna. But the real treat is to hike the trails of the refuge. When our boys were young, they loved to play in the small pools of water that form on the sandbars, chasing minnows and horeshoe crabs.
Crowes Pasture - One of our favorite places to hike is Crowes Pasture on the bay side in Dennis. Park along Quivet Cemetery in East Dennis at the end of South Street. It's a bit of a hike along old cart roads before you arrive in a beautiful open meadow that is a great place for bird-watching. Continue along to the rocky beach for some great views of Cape Cod Bay.
Cape Cod Rail Trail- If you enjoy biking, the rail trail is not to be missed. From the cottage, ride north on Depot Street until you connect with the trail. You ride past several lakes, marshes and woodlands. There are also places to stop for a snack or ice cream. The trail passes Nickerson State Park in Brewster and terminates in Wellfleet not far from the ocean.
Ocean House- One of our favorite restaurants is the Ocean House which is just a short walk from our cottage. Although it doesn't look like much from the outside, don't be fooled. You'll be surprised at what a beautiful dining room they offer with a gorgeous view of Nantucket Sound. The food is consistently good with a variety of local seafood and other American fare.
Cape cod is a special place. With the ocean all around, several small rivers and hundreds of ponds and lakes, water abounds here. There is beauty to be found in any season and in any type of weather. The Cape sparkles in the sunlight and wraps itself in mysterious beauty in the fog. There are so many places to walk, run and ride bikes. Opportunities for fresh and saltwater fishing are everywhere.
Come and explore our 15 distintive towns, arts & culture, quaint shops, wooded bicycle paths, plentiful events and festivals and an endless array of land and sea activities. Visit countless historic sites and landmarks each telling the proud role that Cape Cod has played in American history. The Cape offers fine dining experiences and some of New England's best golfing.
The ocean moderates the climate of Cape Cod making it significantly more comfortable in the summer and not as cold in the winter as mainland Massachussetts. While the mid-summer months of July and August are sunny and warm with afternoon temperatures in the 70s to the low 80s, the nights are cooler with temperates often in the 60s.

Because Nantucket Sound benefits from the gulf stream, our beaches offer the warmest water for swimming on the Cape. Water temperatures reach the mid-70s in summer and stay warm enough to swim through September in most years.
